Help sought to do close-up photography with Canon 60D

Your lens minimum focus distance is 35 cm or about a foot away from the Object of interest.

The max magnification is only 0.2x @ 85 mm.

Not sure is that your objective in shooting macro.

If not, you may want to consider a macro lens, a macro filter or use extension tubes.
