It is following the "1/FL" rule verbatim. @10.4mm, it is the equiv of 28mm, so...1/28 is rounded to 1/30sec...zoom to 37.1mm and its the equiv of 100mm, so then its set to 1/100sec.

For static objects, I think this is fine. The 1/FL rule + steadshot is plenty to get sharp images for me.
