I wish I could explain what it was they did, but the guy took the MacBook Pro into the backroom for about five minutes and when he came back it worked. I asked him what was wrong and he said "the active memory system was frozen." I have no idea what that meant. I have never in almost twenty years of owning mac products heard of the active memory system. BUT it is no longer frozen and I am a dragging fool once again.
