Macro lens suggestions

Thanks for your post and it is quite a good picture. It turns out that I am also looking for a macro lens and I was considering either this lens or its L version. It is mainly for flowers and insects. Obviously the 100mm L is more expensive but I am not sure, based on what I read, that the additional cost will be justified for me, if optically they are similar I do not need the weather protection.

I already have the 180mm L but its focal length does not allow enough magnification and the 65mm is too specialized. My camera is a 1 Ds Mark II.
I would appreciate any comment,
