I don't get who these cameras are aimed at. Not just canon. Most people are just using their phones, and those cameras are rapidly improving. They put their pictures on the web where quality isn't a priority. How many people want to move up in photo quality?

I think it's a VERY limited market.

OTOH, the typical dpreview denizen is an enthusiast with an interest in better quality. He or she has used dslrs. If like me, they get tired of lugging all that weight around -- thus the interest in mirror less cameras.

I left canon when the first Panasonic micro 4/3 cameras came out. I've moved on the Fuji x100 and x pro 1 as I love the viewfinder. I think this is a defensive move on canon (as is the Nikon mirror less) and the goal is to protect the dslr market. That makes sense for now but will kill them in the long term.
