D800 serial numbers

I am sensing a certain amount of concern, why would anyone ask about serial numbers? especially Leonard Shepherd.

For whatever it is worth, my first D800 also had the latest firmware installed, at the time it led me to believe that Nikon must have checked the camera for AF problems and updated the firmware before shipping.

Leonard,if you find that the left AF is not focusing properly, will you let us know?

Why were you dispensing advice and constantly trying discredit all the people with the problem, when you had never used or owned a D800?
