Full-body shots: To Eye-level or not To Eye-level?

I'm really at a crossroads. I am doing a progression shoot of a few subjects, and I am deciding between shooting them at the center or at eye-level and angling the camera downwards.

I feel like both are distorted, in a way. Shooting at the middle of the subject makes their gaze seem unnatural, as it's facing downwards, and causes their head to look strange (whether they angle it downward to accommodate the camera or continue facing forward). Shooting at eye-level will distort the proportions of the rest of the body.

It really seems like it's a trade-off.

What do you guys think?
