I am wondering if you are giving the camera time to focus with pushing the shutter halfway and waiting to focus before taking the shot?
Good point. Actually, the kit lens sometimes takes even more time after pushing the shutter and hearing the beep. The SEL 50 performs better in this regard.
Not sure what mode you are using either, I have switched to DMF and peaking, which is a great combo. Also with the 5n you and use the touch screen to modify you focus.
Using the touch screen to modify focus fails in low-light often. If I touch a low contrast area, then the lens will focus in-and-out as it fails to find any contrast there. Then it will bounce to a higher contrast area. Have you found a way to get better results with the touchscreen in low-light (e.g. ISO 3200 1/60 F4)?
