that i fully understand of course. but the question is - can the reverse apply (as would appear to be the case given some of the replies to the OP)? in other words, if the subject is not in focus can an incorrect diopter setting make it appear to be in focus? with an ordinary viewfinder screen, i can't see how that is possible, but ......
