New Pocketwizard question

As far as the incompatibility between flex/mini and the 580 EXII is concerned, this is a serious problem in the US; over in Europe we don't have this problem with the Flex/Mini units with the 580EXII because the PW's are on a different frequency.

In the light of the above, and knowing this difference is historical and IMHO for the sake of backward compatibility PW isn't anywhere near a change to a unified frequency scheme, the situation with the 580 EX II will remain tricky as before.

In relation to the OP, he is talking about the 580 EX, not the EX II. To my knowledge there is no problem with that combination, even in the USA. So for Pete's sake, don't mix up the situation just to vent your bad feelings since it doesn't have an influence on the OP's situation.

Considering his Nikon flashes, he could sell them on ebay for a decent sum and replace them with Nissin 866 or similar and get a Canon compatible system.

Although I would be interested to know if the AC3 on a Canon could control the SB's in manual...
