Do I Just Need to Get the 35L and Call It a Day?

The 35L makes a lot more sense on FF. I use it on the 5D mainly. I also have a 5DII but I find shots with the DII + 35L combo to be very contrasty, almost 'gritty'. It's really a lens for PJs and doesn't have the silkiness of the 135f2L.
