I would also think about how you will show the videos

I mean you need a blue-ray disk for a HD video, or you use a media-player for your TV, where you can use your video file on a hard disk. If you downsample a HD video for the use of a DVD....you lost the quality.

I would be careful to render the video on your main hard drive of your PC.

That is pur stress for your hard drive and it shortens it's lifetime Better you use a external hard drive for your video project and let the program use this external hard drive also for the rendering of the video.
