Yes, 2 each for the transmitter and the receiver.

No, I tried it on the EM5 and it worked. I don't have it long enough to know how long the batteries last. I would assume it should last many hours of use, but it is always a good idea to have spare batteries.

I couldn't get a sense of size from the picture. How big are they?

The receivers is about 1.5" x 2.5"x0.75" and the transmitter is about 1.2" x 3.5" x0.5".

I also own a Canon in addition to an OM-D. Did the package include information about buying additional connection cords for other cameras?

No, but you should be able to check with them.
