Except among the elderly, perhaps Apple and Galaxy phones will soon account for the bulk of consumer photography. Nokia won't be in the race for long, unless it stems its losses.

Among the elderly, phones with large touch screen numbers will prevail, with most of the remainder consisting of codgers who prefer to talk to themselves, or (being deaf) can stand the company of the talk-a-holics. Big cameras or camera-only devices will appear occasionally at estate sales or recycling centers, the way vinyl LPs and turntables do now. Flocks of codgers will hang about, like vultures, at auctions and used-good markets.
