I take pictures in a gym regularly with a D7000... A couple of findings :

I found ( in my case ) I need to set a custom white balance if I don't want to spend time correcting it in raw... So I have a custom profile shot there ( I shot a white paper under the fluro lights).

You can also set it in raw afterwards by pcking up a white point, but it's easier if it's all done beforehand.

Autoiso is good to use, but I like to know what I shoot at, and I like my iso to be consistent in between shots, as I can then process all images in one go in ACR, and setup my noise reduction for all shots... rather than having multiple iso's shot ,case when I have to go to each and every picture and adjust to my liking.

We don't have natural light coming in in the gym I shoot, only fluorescent light, so I shoot at iso3200 most of the time. But that is not a problem with D7000 , with a bit of balanced noise reduction.

Good luck.
