Dell XPS 8500 - PCIe 1x eSata card failures
Jul 16, 2012

Hello - I could use some diagnostic help folks.

I recently upgraded to an XPS 8500, and am VERY happy with the exception of one thing: unable to get it to see my PCIe 1x eSata card. Device Manager (Win 7 Pro) will not even see it. Both cards are recognized and work perfectly in other Win7 Pro Dell machines, and other PCIe 1x cards work perfectly in these slots on the XPS 8500.

I see on the Dell forums that this is happening to a number of other folks with various types of PCIe 1x eSata cards - so it is not just a specific card.

PC mobo BIOS is at the latest rev (A06).
Cards: two IOGear GICe702S3R5

Two questions:
Anyone else experiencing this specific issue with the XPS 8500?
Anyone else able to get a PCIe 1x eSata card working in the XPS 8500?
