There are many 46mm lens hoods available, just google. You can get metal, plastic, rubber...none of them are very expensive. The main reason I use one on my 20mm is to protect the lens but it also helps cut down on glare from incident light.

As far as I can tell none of them will cause vignetting - they'd have to be mighty long to do that. It's been some months now but there have been many posts here about lens hoods for the 20mm.
