Digital slide "projector" ?

Like a lot of people, I changed over to all digital photography many years ago. However, I have a lot of 2"x2" slides in various formats which I would like to view without having them scanned first. (I have about 4000 of them.) Has anyone ever heard of a device similar to an old-fashioned slide projector which uses something like Kodak carousels or Bell & Howell slide cubes, but instead of using a lamp and screen, outputs a digital signal which can be displayed on a flat-screen TV?
