Question about focus with the 60D, and 300 f4 L+1.4 TC combo

Thanks for your reply. I have had the Camera body almost a year, but the lens combo only a few days. By bright light I mean bright sun, and when I depress the shutter button to focus it usually does not focus. I have tried it with the distance switch in both positions, and the camera set to various auto focus modes, but it made no difference, and I see from your reply that this is not normal.
