And on this final sentence, you're wrong. Most of the times, when you're unhappy with the jpeg, it's when you're sitting in front of your computer and realise f.eg. that your WB is incorrect.. And oops, that's the time when it's already too late. Then you'll be happy to have the "master" copy of your picture.

So I'd rephrase this: Shoot JPEG and RAW .. keep your RAW files anywhere safe and don't mess with them if you're happy with the camera produced JPEGs.
