GPS fix when red/orange LED is locked
  • GPS position data is added to the EXIF section of the JPEGS.

  • You can enable the database list of "landmarks"

  • You can enable track logging, which records NMEA log into a separate directory file, [SDCARD]\GPSLOG\12071401.LOG

I'm currently trying to figure out a way to convert the string of NMEA data to GPX format. Neither my first tries using neither http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/gpsbabel/gpsbabel_convert nor http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-1.4.3/fmt_nmea.html was successful. I might look at how Canon S100 and Panasonic TZ models log the GPS tracks to get further hints.

  • In order to download updates to its almanac and ephemeris data, Olympus provides a software utility, OLYMPUS A-GPS Utility:

It's not necessary, but will help speeding up a position fix.
