Two comments on the G3 interface.
One fools opinions.

1) The finger grip is a little slippery. = carefully cut a smallpiece of black tennis racket grip tape and attach it under your front fingers.

2) The dual use wheel seems crazy on first use. = you are looking at two adjustments in the VF. The color tells you which is active.

None of todays cameras are simple. Photography has been my hobby since 1959 and I've had to learn the details of every new camera or lens. Todays cameras are so much more complex. = Slow down and learn the beast. The first day tells you very little about how you will use it after you learn.

Several others have given examples of a general rule of user interafces. = easy to learn does not mean easy to use. Or hard to learn does not mean hard to use.
