macbook retina in place of desktop and ips

As of now I have a macbook pro 15inch I got 6 months ago refurbished. I also have a desktop with cheap screen I built 2 years ago which is starting to run a little slow for editing. Im debating if I should sell my macbook pro($200 loss from when I first bought it) and skip getting a ips screen for my desktop and just spend the money on a macbook retina.I have no problem editing on a 15inch screen since I still have young eyes, but im not sure if the retina would be as good as say a $500-$600 ips screen.
So to sum it up, would it be a good idea to have a macbook retina as my main editing tool? I am starting to get busy with my own photography business and just want to make sure this would be up to or close enough to professional standards.
Thanks all
