You can 'fly' a Lancaster!

I mentioned before on this forum:

At Pitstone Green Museum in Beds. there's a reconstruction of a Lancaster from the wings forward. You can sit in the pilots seat, flick the mag. switches on and press the starter buttons on each engine to 'start' them. You get authentic sound effects, especially when you push the throttles forward to 'take off'. The instruments all work, so the effect is pretty complete. I guess the only thing missing is the vibration!

Unfortunately the museum is not open often, but it's well worth a visit. Here's a link to the museum and one specifically to the Lancaster:
