Dust under low-pass sensor, Canon says
Jul 12, 2012

Is it impossible for Canon to remove dust under a low-pass filter on a 1DM3 or does the sensor have to be changed?

Just got a camera back from Canon and after I asked them to figure out if on my sensor I had some really stuck dirt or if it was scratched because I could not get the spec to go away. Well, it still has the spec and the report reads that iit is under the low pass filter.

OK Canon, so why didn't you call to ask what I wanted to do? Maybe I wanted the sensor completely replaced (I think I do). Why did I get a cleaning charge if you could do nothing about it?

Just sad I have to send it off again when it has already been gone for two weeks

Canon EOS-1D
