GX1 add-on EVF is very good - essentially the same as the one in the G3 but detachable and can be tilted 45 degrees upwards.

G3 I have as well. It is better for macro work due to the tiltable screen.

In my experience the GX1 improves on the G3 in the following ways:-

GX1 high ISO is a bit better in raw and JPEG
GX1 has a level gauge that can be displayed on the LCD or EVF
GX1 has even faster focusing than the G3
GX1 has some menu refinements and more external controls than the G3
GX1 form factor (rangefinder style) is more appealing to some
GX1 has better build quality

GX1 colors (raw and JPEG) are a bit better than in G3 (less prone to strange color balance)

G3 is cheaper than GX1, has built in EVF and a tilt and swivel LCD.

If you do not have the money for the LVF-2 then I would suggest going for the G3, otherwise the GX1 is overall a better camera, with the LVF-2.

How do you like GX1 EVF? It is expensive to add on.
Panny G3 have same 16 mpxl sensor but with built-in EVF, yes?
Both same IQ but G3 not same quality built as G1X?
G3 cost less G1X. Why?

Thank you.

I have both E-P2 and GX1, along with their respective EVFs. The GX1 is superior in almost every way - the sensor is better, AF much faster, EVF is better in my view.

Yes the Olympus JPEG colors are nicer 'out of the box' but the GX1 is very tweakable.

Only downside to GX1 for me is that with my big hands I keep pressing in the rear dial accidentally when trying to turn it, which changes the function of the dial - for some reason they made it too shallow so that when you turn the dial it has a tendency to be pressed in as well, accidentally. Nothing's perfect !
