LR is multithreaded.

Programs can't decide to selectively use or not use processor cores or distinguish between actual or virtual cores. That's up to the operating system.

I know it uses OpenGL + OpenCL instead of CUDA,. therefore forcing us all to upgrade our graphics cards.

It uses Opengl for video. I'm not sure what it uses for stills.
