85mm 1.2 focus problem?

I have been lusting over the 85mm 1.2 II for a while now.

An ad came up on a semi local craigslist for one. It is a steal of a price, but he claims it will not focus properly manually. He says AF is fine.

I know the manual focus is electronic on these lenses, but has anyone ever seen the manual focus not work??

If you have seen this problem, was it an expensive fix?
