My new MBP Retina too new for my 40D?

Got a MacBook Pro Retina on Friday. Was going to install software from the EOS Solution Disk that came with my EOS 40D (v. 15.1), but the installer won't run on my new system. I get the error message:

"You can't open the application Canon EOS Digital Installer.app because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."

Anyone got any ideas of how to work around this problem?
