In terms of quality on the D800(E), I think it's most zoom lenses are just a little short of taking advantage of the sensor, though the quality is just enough to make use of the resolution. To fully take advantage of the sensor you'll need a good prime lens stopped down 2 stops, if we're talking about achieving absolute resolution.
