Hey Al, you're right ISO 9000/9001 does apply to manufacturing and so does Six Sigma.

As taught and written by Jiju Antony in "Pros and cons of Six Sigma: an academic perspective", Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes.
