Actually I was worried about this, but after three weeks of traveling through Europe I got over it. Did use the Velcro silencers a couple, for example in Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. While over the shoulder no problem. The flap is big and heavy enough that it seems to want to stay closed. Of course when my focus was travel rather than photography, I made sure I had the velcro "turned on".

That said, if I could change one thing it would be the addition of a plastic snap/clip. One located in the center but one that can be "tucked" out of the way so it's not dangling around. Maybe have a small pocket it could slide into.
