Two questions for RX100 owners

I was promised that next Friday I can come to the local Sony Center to try the RX100.

Right now there there are two things I would like to know:

1) Can the camera be made totally silent (no focus noise, no shutter noise, etc), and

2) If you choose Manual mode and set the shutter speed to f.ex. 1/500 sec, and then activate the flash: does the camera shoot with this settings or is it impossible to shoot anything above 1/160 even in Manual mode?

Unfortunately, sometimes, instead of changing cameras to get good pictures, you have to change the photographer.
