G1X + Filter Adapter + Lens Hood + Sony Closeup Lens

I purchased a Canon FA-DC58C filter adapter (Canon finally got these back in stock and I was able to use a promo 20% off coupon). My plan was to also purchase a 250D close-up lens, if those ever become available again - and to also use a regular 58mm lens cap instead of the snap-on cap that comes with the G1X

But I hadn't considered that there would be no way to use the LH-DC70 lens hood with the filter adapter attached until I got the adapter and tried it.

Are there alternative lens hoods that will work with the filter adapter attached or alternative filter adapters that will work with the lens hood or alternatives to both that will work with each other? If not, I guess it's not a big deal to just use the adapter when I need it (although I that means not being able to use a standard lens cap. I do use the lens hood a lot - it basically lives on the camera full-time, so that's most important for me.

Also, I just found in my treasure trove of abandoned gadgets and accessories, a Sony VCL-M3358 58mm Close-up lens. I'm wondering how this compares to the Canon 250D or 500D close-up lens?

I really don't have anything good to test with but I put this crystal thing outside on top of my air-conditioner and took this shot with the VCL-M3358 attached. I'm not sure that it's perfectly focused. This is straight from camera with no processing - just resized.
