just a question : I always heard that the eye max aperture was F/1.0.

Is your F/2.4 measure areal max i.e., for an eye after several minutes/hours in the dark?

The max F-stop is based on the formula A/F, where A=aperture, F=focal distance. Human iris can only open to about 8-9 mm. For the eye to be F/1.0 the pupil size would have to be larger than 20mm (3/4inch) I have never seen any person with a pupil this large, nor read about such cases.
