I broke my Nikon wide angle lens...suggested course of action?
Jul 7, 2012

My early morning trip this morning led to a brief slide down a ravine and one broken wide angle lens. The lens body and glass appear fine, but the view through the camera is very dark (as if the aperture is at its smallest.) The images are also blurry. I tried my macro lens, and everything is fine. Should I replace it? Repair it?

The lens was used when I bought the new camera body
I will probably upgrade to a full frame sensor next year
