How fast can you get the images onto the computer?

I tend to shoot quite a few images each shoot. Anywhere from a hundred to a thousand. The D800 makes that a lot of bytes to get onto the computer before I can start work.

I hate waiting.

Built a new PC to run CS5 faster, and bought some (even) faster CF cards (Lexar 32GB 1000x), and now I've upgraded my card reader to the Sandisk Imagemate USB3.

Just downloaded a new shoot - hit 120MB/s downloading the CF cards to an Agility 3 SSD. That's a heck of a lot faster than before (saw a lot of 30MB/s downloads).

The new machine is much faster at processing the images, too. I went for the "serious overkill" approach: Core i7 3930K, 32GB of RAM, and three SSDs.
