Most of the SSD reports fail to capture the more important test of IOPS (IO operations per second)... which for most uses are more important the Mbps.

Client computers are very heavily weighted towards reads (very few writes)... and towards small files. Mbps is a good measure of large file transfers... a relatively rare event percentage wise.

If you consider why a computer feels so much faster than one with a HDD... IOPS is the major factor.

Having said that... I think that you will be happier with a Thunderbolt interface if you can afford the premium.
