Newly acquired s/h 5D mk2 - unpleasant shutter count surprise in store
Jul 6, 2012

About a month ago I purchased a used 5D mark 2 off Ebay. I paid $1700 for body and a grip.

Learning about the site only yesterday, I eagerly hooked up my "new" camera to my computer to check the shutter count.

Needless to say I was bummed out when the readout turned out to be in excess of 143,000.

Had this been disclosed in the listing, or had I had the foresight asking the seller for this information on beforehand, I would never have bought the camera in the first place. I do not expect it to self-destruct at the stroke of 150,000 actuations, but knowing that I could have purchased a brand new body from B &H for $2200, ticks me off to no end.

But I am unsure as how to approach this vis-a-vis the seller, since the camera has been in my possession for about 5 weeks.

Thoughts, anyone?
