Any way to set 'Flat View' as personal default?

I wonder if there is any option I have so far overlooked to set 'Flat View' as my default view? Every time I have a search I open results that I find interesting in new tabs. Then, in every tab I have to set the view to flat--not funny.

If there really is no way to customize my experience of DPR in this way, any tips on how I could contact the powers that be to plead w/ them to create this option?
