When will we have a digital equivalent of the Yashica T4?

I think a lot of people would welcome a compact with a truly fast prime with moderate DOF control. People say there is no market, but who do you think buys cameras like the XZ-1, X10, LX5, etc? Those are enthusiast cameras, just like a compact with a prime would be.

I don't think putting and APS-C or FF sensor would keep it cost effective, but maybe something with a 1" sensor and a 35mm equivalent f1.4 or f1.8 prime would be reasonable. Think RX100 but with a prime lens that can retract into the body. Shouldn't be that much harder than a zoom starting at f1.8.

Of course we do have m4/3 bodies and the 20mm f1.7, but that's just a little bit thick to be pocketable.
