Any way to switch off ambient lights when firing?
Jul 3, 2012

I shoot with hot shoe flashes, and I'm continuing to get problems with auto focus where I'm balancing ambient light with flash output.

Basically I like to shoot fairly wide apertures (f2, - 2.8), and I'd like to avoid ND's. But ambient light tends to be contaminating my colors and light control.

I'd love to have some type of switch that could turn off a bunch of say LED lights that are aiding my focusing, but turn off just as the flashes are firing.

Is there any type of device I could get to do such a thing?
