In desperate need of advice ...which DSLR to buy?

I have been wanting to invest in a DSLR for some time. I am a total amatuer when it comes to photography, but would like to pursue this as a hobby. I would like to get a camera with great picture quality to take family pictures and outdoor shoots. A decent lens that I won't have to invest in separate lens for the time being is also high on the wish list.. My budget is £300 to £400. I am desperate for some professional advice as I am totally confused after reading all the reviews of the DSLR's that is out there in the market!! Thanks Guys
