I don't think flourescent lighting is the best to try out an exposure test. If the shutter speed, aperture and ISO values are exactly the same (manual mode as you suggest), I don't understand how and why it would matter whether it was in LV or through the OVF, unless there is stray light entering the OVF and adding to the exposure in LV.

Have you tried this test in daylight?
