I use 2 Nikon D300 cameras to take high-speed in-flight insects. System is laser controlled to detect insects when they come in focus. Flashes are controlled by the hardware, not by the cameras. Shutter-lag 53ms, detection speed 120 us (0.12ms)
Lens are 2 x AF105/2.8D macro
Flashes 2 x SB-80-DX or SB800
Detector system use a AF50/1.8 lens + photodiode build into this lens.
Hardware via multiple AVR ucontrollers.
