Not a problem with my 50mm D macro. But part of that is where I use the 50mm instead of the 100mm D macro. It's in places where there is little working room available, a good part of those shots are indoors, and indoors or out they tend to be where spare light is scarce.

The 100mm does get used a lot more than the 50mm, however.
