Just because you don't know of any doesn't mean much. There was recently a report of a big time politician that did it (can't remember who).

You will always find folks to look outside their own country for certain things.

I left the UK when I was 20 years old and never went back. Not because it's a Bad or horrible country...but simply because I prefer other/different things.

Just because some Canadians will go to the USA for some treatments...really does not reflect upon the medical system here.

Many Americans (over 1 million) have chosen to move to Canada...does that mean they hate the USA or whatever....of course not.

Different countries often specialize or offer different things...so at times, we must travel in order to obtain or get that specific thing...we want.

It's not necessarily a reflection that our own native country is not good, or whatever. It's kinda silly to think in these terms.

Last year I had a small hard lump on my right-calf.

I didn't know what it was...so went to my family doc....he took a look and said it was just a small 'trauma' lump and harmless.

I said, it bothered me, and I also wanted a small biopsy on it just to make sure.

He said fine (but I know it's just a benign hard lump)...

Anyway, he booked me in for 3 days later and I had it cut out under just a local anesthetic and they did a lab biopsy on it. I got the results 4-5 days later.

My DOC was right, and nothing to worry about - just a benign cyst-lump.

How can I complain about a medical service like that.

The doc did what I wanted (even tho it was against his better judgement)...I had the small op to remove it...plus a lab-biopsy test....and the whole process took about 7 days from my first visit to getting the results.

All at NO out of pocket expense to me.
