I own the 28mm f1.8 lens and I find it extremely sharp when shooting both close up and shooting landscapes . If I want most everything in my shot in sharp focus I would never shoot below f8.. at f8 and above this lens is very sharp with very minor field curvature on my lens. I also find the quality of this lens to be very good. I think some people assume, because of it's light weight and use of plastic, it is of poor quality. This simply is not true.
