Thanks for the answer. All of this makes perfect sense!

So whenever the ev compensation is indicated, it means that the camera was not in full manual mode, but rather in automatic, speed priority or aperture priority and that the bias was applied to the "factor" that the camera was still controling at time of shooting.

Am I right?
