5D3 and 1DX are useless to me. What to do?

I agree: the 5D2 is quite capable for dance photography. I learned this shooting swing dance, with people moving rapidly towards/away from the camera at very close distances, in dim ambient lighting. I was surprised how many keepers I got, even with very shallow DOF.

Moving from the 5D2 to the 1D4, the first difference which jumped out at me was the improvement in shadow noise/detail. 5D2 files can take a modest amount of shadow boosting before banding/blotching makes the shadow regions ugly ... but the shadow regions in 1D4 files are much cleaner and more robust. I've grown to rely on this, as in shots like the ones I posted above -- I like being able to reveal the dancers' entire bodies, even when they're clothed in black and poorly lit.
